Understanding and Managing Equine Parasites will cover the main types of equine parasites and their life cycles, why anthelmintic resistance is occurring and how we can combat it, the importance of fecal egg counts, and parasite management strategies for both the individual horse and the horse farm as a whole.

When

(12:00 PM – 1:00 PM ET)

Format
Live Online
via Zoom

The way in which we manage equine parasites has changed over the last decade, especially in how we approach using dewormers (which are also known as anthelmintics). Resistance to dewormers is increasingly becoming a problem that requires horse owners and caretakers to take a whole-farm approach in order to manage internal parasites, in particular small strongyles.
