2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup masa harina flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup lard
2 tbsp salted butter
1 cup hot water
Sift dry ingredients together, cut in butter and lard until it is a course crumble. Add very hot water and stir until it forms a dough. Put into a clean bowl and cover with a dish towel for 1 hour. Heat cast iron skillet when you are ready to make tortillas. Take out a golf ball sized piece of dough and roll into a ball. With a floured rolling pin roll into a circle. If you have a tortilla press use it now. Cook on each side for about 45 seconds. Remove and place in a towel to keep warm. Serve warm. Takes a couple times to make them just right.
