Lets kick this year off with a great meeting and planning session. Bring a friend, your ideas for events and fundraisers! Dinner, drinks during the meeting and trivia to follow! Please let us know if you are able to make it day of so that we can reserve a table.
The Kenda Lenseigne Clinic is fully booked, but you’re invited to observe and volunteer if you’re interested.
Alternative if it rains is the Opelousas Covered arena, 13 miles from the V-Cross ranch.

FULL PARADE ATTIRE!!!!!!
Please have your 40SC pink blouse, 40SC black jacket, black felt hat or helmet, fuchsia wild rag, blue jeans. Horse needs 40SC black saddle pad, pink polo wraps. Depending on weather you can layer under parade attire. Gloves to be handed out at parade if they are to be used.
Please have your waivered filled out and either back to your Queen or mail them to FWSSR. I have placed the link below for you. They are due by Nov 30th, NO fax or email entries will be excepted. More information as it comes to us will be posted!
- All parade participants must review and sign a Participant Release Form. Release Forms must accompany the organization’s application at time of submission.
- Participants must carefully read and abide by all Parade rules.
- Health Papers: All horses and other equine are required to have proper health papers to participate in the parade or enter staging area. Riders must be in possession of health papers at all times. See ” Official Health Requirements” as provided in the application information for mandatory health requirements on horses and other equine.

Non-Members are also welcome to attend. Membership applications for Cowgirls (31+) and Lil Sisters (21-30) will be available.
Trail Ride the beautiful Vasquez Rocks park. This ride is sponsored by ETI Corral 86 If you are not a current member there will be a $10 fee for insurance due at the time of the ride.
3 hour trail ride in Lake View Terrace, led by Jeanne Mather. Flyer to be sent to all current cowgirls after our Calendar Reveal on the 12th, save the date!
You must pick a 2-hour time slot when registering and paying Flying M Stables.

Cowboy Mounted shooting Starts Friday with Shotgun and rifle. Saturday will be the main match.
Sunday Mardi Gras Parade
Self care day for you + your horses! Please join us at the ranch for massages, facials and magnawave. There are limited spots so let me know what you would like to be reserved for!

Enjoy a traditional Mardi Gras Parade continued with a chicken run and a grease pig chase.
Howard Venable road and surrounding roads will be closed from 6 am to 4 pm so arrive early. There will be parking at the Vcross ranch, we will shuttle to the Prince ranch.
Trail ride in Griffith Park, lunch at the mexican restaurant. This ride is sponsored by ETI Corral 86. If you are not a current ETI member there will be a $10 insurance fee.

Bring a friend, your ideas for events and fundraisers! We will be doing a pot luck (facility is also BYOB) during the meeting. Afterwards there will be axe throwing, archery, corn hole & darts! Please let us know if you are able to make it day of so that we can plan the potluck and let the venue know a head count.
Sweetheart Ride – Coed Event. $25.00 per couple, $15.00 per single cowgirl. We will be doing about a 4 hour trail ride with lunch/dessert following, champagne too!

We will be riding from Gentry Wimberely’s house to Canyon Road Bar and Grill. This will be a 6-7 mile ride with drink stops if needed. we are planning to unload at Gentrys then convoying trucks and trailers to Canyon Road we will have a cowgirl uber to take the drivers who are also riding back to the horses. Join us for a practice Mounted shooting session March 30, 2024 10 am – 2 pm, priced at $20 per person. You can either bring your own blanks or purchase 10 blanks from us for $7.
Afterwards, enjoy a fun filled day with the 40SC moving cattle in the arena and some lively line dancing with Cowgirl Melanie Bourque. Don’t forget to bring your own Berverage.

One of our newest Cowgirls Elaine Gober and her husband Travis our competing in the acoustic showdown, this event is part of care fest. winners of this event will go on to play at the big carefest concert on august 24. Trinity Trail Events founder Maral Eckenrod will conduct an instructional clinic on how to navigate the mountain trail obstacles at Flying M Stables, which were built by Mark Bolender of Bolender Horse Park. If you trail ride or have thought of competing at a Novice, Intermediate, or Advanced Level of Equine Trail Sports events (ETS) or other obstacle challenges such as IMTCA events (International Mountain Trail Challenge Association), here is where you can start! Maral will lead us through how to acclimate your horse to the obstacle, navigate it properly, and what judges are looking for.
Trinity Trail Events also conducts virtual challenges using just a few items (ground poles, tarp, cones, flag, spray bottle) that you may have at home. You will receive the pattern and have a window of time to practice and video you and your horse navigating the obstacles, submit your video to Maral, who will judge it, provide comments if you want, and award prizes, including buckles. TTE has Novice, Intermediate, Advanced and Easy Peasy patterns to get you started in this field!
Depending on sign-ups for the clinic, the plan is for 2 hours of In-Hand instruction and practice and 2 hours of mounted instruction and practice. If more than 12 horse/rider pairs sign-up, then it may be changed to 2 groups, with 1 hour each of In-Hand and Mounted work.
Cost: $60 per horse/rider pair, includes haul-in fee of $35 ; $5 per auditor
Pay via Venmo to @Wendy-Morrow-79 and Chapter will pay the haul-in fee to Flying M Stables.

Turkey Creek Rodeo Club has Started their Open 4D barrel series. Exhibitons start at 4pm-6pm. Youth Barrels will begin at 6:30 entry fee is 35.00. Open Barrels will begin after youth runs entry fee is 45.00. 75% pay out on 1/2 splits this is a buckle series and you must attend 3 of the 5 to qualify for the buckle
Auditing cost is $20 per day or $50 for all 3 days. Bring your own chair, food, drink, notepad, and pen.
